Meet John Crofts

 Greetings, fellow Republicans, valued voters, businesses, community champions, and County Delegates. It is an honor to present my candidacy for Davis County Commissioner, a role I approach with unwavering dedication to service, fiscal responsibility, and the time-honored principles of our great Republican party.

As a fifth-generation Utah resident deeply rooted in the community, my family’s pioneer legacy, particularly the visionary contributions of Christopher Layton, played a pivotal role in shaping Davis County’s prosperity from its pioneer days. His pioneering spirit laid the groundwork for our community’s growth and success, and I am wholeheartedly committed to continuing that legacy.

Growing up with these deep roots instilled in me the values of dedication and responsibility. From my very early years, engaging in the meaningful work of harvesting cherries at the age of 12, to my mission service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Santiago, Chile, and raising three children as a single parent, I have faced and overcome significant challenges with resilience and determination.

My connection to Davis County is not just historical but enduring. As a long-term resident, I’ve witnessed the evolution of our community and am deeply invested in its future. With a Master’s in Business Administration and over 25 years of experience in local, state, and federal government, I bring a unique perspective to the table.

I have invested substantial effort, time, and commitment to reading Utah Title 17, listened to County Commission meetings and Work Meetings through online recordings, meticulously reviewed budgets and policies, all in preparation to become an effective Commissioner. Additionally, I play an active role in updating the Davis Utah Weekly website and disseminating weekly emails containing concise and essential 1-3 minute reads summarizing the Davis County Commission meetings. I’m a member of the Davis County Chamber of Commerce which promotes the business and economic development of Davis County. I’m also a member and supporter of the Davis County League of Women Voters.

My service in the private sector, local government, and the state government has equipped me with the skills needed to navigate complex challenges, make sound financial decisions, and represent voters with dedication and integrity. I am a staunch believer in the responsible use of taxpayer dollars, prioritizing your interests over special interest groups that don’t represent the voters’ interests.

As your County Commissioner, I pledge to uphold Republican values, champion fiscal responsibility, and work tirelessly to make Davis County a place we are all proud to call home.
